Epoxy resin is an important thermosetting material, which has good physical and chemical properties, and is widely used in electronics, electrical appliances, adhesives, coatings, composite materials and other fields. 1. epoxy resin production process

epoxy resin production process mainly includes three stages: epoxidation reaction, epoxy resin synthesis and post-treatment.

1. Epoxidation

Epoxidation is a key step in the production of epoxy resins. Its purpose is to oxidize aromatic compounds (such as benzene rings) to epoxy groups, generally using hydrogen peroxide as the oxidizing agent. The reaction temperature is generally about 100°C and the reaction time is about 1-2 hours. After the reaction, the epoxy compound can be separated by extraction or distillation.

2. epoxy resin synthesis

epoxy compounds through hydroxylation, anhydride, dehydration, deether and other reactions, the formation of epoxy resin. In the hydroxylation reaction, an epoxy compound is added to a polyether alcohol or polyester ester to form an epoxy compound-polyether alcohol or polyester ester adduct. The anhydridation reaction is to add an epoxy compound to an acid anhydride to form an acid anhydride-epoxy compound adduct. In the dehydration reaction, an ether compound is added to an epoxy compound to form an epoxy compound-ether compound adduct.

3. Post-treatment
After the
epoxy resin is synthesized, post-treatment is required. Among them, defoaming is to put the epoxy resin in vacuum to remove the bubbles; solvent evaporation is to dissolve the epoxy resin in an organic solvent, and then evaporate the solvent to obtain the epoxy resin solid.

2. epoxy resin preparation method

epoxy resin preparation method mainly includes epoxidation reaction method, volume reaction method and in situ polymerization method.

1. Epoxidation reaction method

Epoxidation reaction method is a traditional method for the preparation of epoxy resin, mainly by oxidizing benzene ring and other compounds to generate epoxy compounds, and then through hydroxylation, anhydride, dehydration and other reactions to obtain epoxy resin. The reaction temperature is low, the reaction process is simple, but the product purity is low, and the environmental pollution is large.

2. Volumetric reaction method

Volumetric reaction method is a new type of epoxy resin preparation method, mainly by adding epoxy resin raw materials to the reactor, the volume reaction under high temperature and high pressure conditions, the preparation of epoxy resin. The method has short reaction time and excellent product performance, but the equipment cost and energy consumption are high.
