phenolic resin is a synthetic plastic, colorless or yellowish brown transparent solid, also known as bakelite because of the use of electrical equipment. Excellent heat resistance, flame resistance, water resistance and insulation, good acid resistance, poor alkali resistance, good mechanical and electrical properties, easy to cut, divided into two types of thermosetting plastics and thermoplastics. When synthesizing, different components can be added to obtain modified phenolic resins with different functions, which have different excellent characteristics, such as alkali resistance, wear resistance, oil resistance, corrosion resistance, etc.

Nature Description

It usually refers to liquid or solid products obtained by the action of phenol or its homologs (such as cresol and dimethylphenol) and formaldehyde. According to the type of raw materials used, the ratio of phenol to aldehyde and the type of catalyst, thermoplastic and thermosetting two kinds of different resin can be prepared. Thermoplastic resin (novorak resin) is only melted when heated and cannot become insoluble and infusible. Using trifunctional or difunctional phenol as raw material, the amount of phenol (molar) exceeds the amount of aldehyde (molar). Phenolic resin is resistant to acid, alkali and heat.

Production method
