Product Applications

Production method

In 1849, Mansfield separated benzene from coal tar. After 1876, benzene was recovered from coke oven gas, and alkyl benzene was dealkylated to benzene in 1961. In recent years, benzene and dimethylbenzene have been produced by metathesis of toluene, and benzene has also been separated from pyrolysis gasoline. The production and supply of benzene in different countries and regions are different. The United States mainly obtains benzene from reformed gasoline, Western Europe mainly comes from cracked gasoline, while China mainly produces reformed gasoline and coking byproducts. 1. Coking by-product recovery benzene high-temperature coking by-product High-temperature tar contains part of benzene. First, through the initial distillation column, light benzene is obtained at the top of the column and heavy benzene is obtained at the bottom of the column (heavy benzene is used as the raw material for preparing kumalong resin). Cracking gasoline to benzene cracking gasoline generally contains about 40-70 aromatic hydrocarbons. Aromatic hydrocarbons contain about 37 benzene, 14 toluene and 5 xylenes. Benzene was extracted by hydrodealkylation. Firstly, pyrolysis gasoline is subjected to two-stage catalytic hydrogenation, catalytic dealkyl and hydrogen purification, alkylbenzene is converted into benzene, and then benzene is obtained through fractional distillation.
