Nature Description

Colorless transparent volatile liquid with special smell and burning smell. Melting point is-11.9 ℃, boiling point is 102 ℃, relative density is 0.8084(20 ℃), refractive index is 1.4058(20 ℃), flash point is 21 ℃. Soluble in water, it can form azeotrope with many organic substances such as ethanol, ether, benzene, chloroform, glycerol and oil. The azeotropic composition with water is tert-amyl alcohol 72.5, water 27.5, the total boiling point is ℃.

Product Applications

Used for synthetic perfume, color film color forming agent, solvent, plasticizer, non-ferrous metal flotation agent, etc.

Production method

(1) acetone and acetylene are used as raw materials and obtained by alkynization and hydrogenation. Acetylene is dissolved in liquid ammonia, mixed with acetone and catalyst, and then sent to alkynization reactor. The reaction liquid is flashed to separate unreacted acetylene and ammonia, and the unreacted acetone is evaporated, the obtained methyl butynyl alcohol enters the hydrogenator reaction to generate tert-amyl alcohol, and the product is obtained by dehydration and refining. (2) it is made by adding water to isopentene. (3) it is prepared by fractional distillation of mixed alcohol generated from pentane after chlorination and hydrolysis. The raw material pentane is first dehydrated with anhydrous hydrogen chloride, evaporated and mixed with chlorine into the reactor, and the reaction temperature is 250-300 ℃. Resultant of reaction chloropentane was obtained by distillation in four distillation columns. In the hydrolyzer, sodium oleate was used as catalyst, and chloropentane was hydrolyzed with sodium hydroxide aqueous solution, and crude pentanol was separated from water; Pentanol containing primary alcohol 59, secondary alcohol 36 and tertiary aloohol 5 could be obtained by distillation. The product with purity of 99 can be obtained by using acetone and acetylene as raw materials. Raw material consumption quota: acetone 1040kg/t, calcium carbide 1500kg/t, hydrogen (99.5)650 m3, liquid ammonia 135kg/t, potassium carbonate 340kg/t.
