Product Applications

It is used as solvent and humidifier, and also used to make plasticizer, medicine, polyester resin, polyurethane resin, etc. It is used as chromatographic analysis reagent and organic synthesis; 1, 4-butanediol is widely used. In the United States and Western Europe, more than half of them are used to produce Tetrahydrofuran, and the second is to produce γ-dinene..

Production method

1, ① The acetylene method firstly reacted with acetylene and formaldehyde in the presence of Cu-Bi catalyst at 98kPa and 80-95 ℃ to Form 1, 4-butynediol. The latter is then catalysed by skeleton nickel at 1.372-2.06MPa, 50-60 ℃ hydrogenated to 1,4-butenedioic acid salt, followed by Ni-Cu-Mn/alumina further catalytic hydrogenation (13.7-20.6MPa, 120-140 ℃) to 1,4-butanediol, after metal ions are removed by ion exchange resin, the pure product is purified by distillation.

② the improved acetylene method the above process has been improved, and a catalyst with magnesium silicate as the carrier has been developed, and bismuth has been added, thus inhibiting the copper polymerization reaction, and the butynediol synthesis system is operated under low and safe acetylene partial pressure to avoid the danger of explosion. In the low-pressure synthesis system of butynediol, a continuous stirred tank is used, 37% methanol is introduced, and 12%Cu-2%Bi/magnesium silicate (the number is the mass fraction of metal in the catalyst) is used as the catalyst, reaction temperature 95℃, acetylene partial pressure 0.1MPa, pH value 5-6. Inert gas is used as diluent to reduce acetylene partial pressure to minimize explosion risk. The conversion rate of butynyl alcohol in formaldehyde is 95%, and propargyl alcohol is recovered. The theoretical yield of butynediol is 95%. The hydrogenation process is improved to two-stage hydrogenation: 35% butynediol aqueous solution flows into the continuous stirred tank reactor together with copper (II) acetate, and Ranny Ni is used as catalyst to operate at a temperature of 50-60 ℃ and a hydrogen pressure of 1.4-2.0MPa, crude BDO vapor containing partially hydrogenated and carbonyl compounds is generated. Crude BDO vapor is hydrogenated again in a Ni-Cu-Mn reactor filled with fiexed bed/silica gel catalyst at a reaction temperature of 120-140 ℃ and a hydrogen pressure of 13.8-20.7MPa. ISP company's research found that silica gel carrier degrades itself under the condition of the second high-pressure hydrogenation reaction, resulting in pressure fluctuation in the reactor. Therefore, a new catalyst composed of 15%Ni-7%Cu-05%Mn/AI has been developed. The catalyst has high activity, self-stability and long service life under reaction conditions. The yield of 1,4-butanediol is 93.1% based on acetylene.

2. Maleic anhydride hydrogenation process the production process using butane as raw material includes: Huntsman/Kvaerner method, BPAmcoc/Lurgi Geminox method and Sisas method. Among them, the process of Kvaerner method is to oxidize n-butane into maleic anhydride (MA) in the gas phase with vanadium-based catalyst on a fixed bed, and then convert maleic anhydride into corresponding maleic anhydride dimethyl ester (DMM), further Gas Phase Hydrogenation/hydrolysis to obtain BDO.
