On November 11, Sichuan Yongying New Materials Co., Ltd. held a mechanical completion ceremony for the first phase of the integrated industrial chain project with an annual output of 800000 tons of functional new materials, marking that the project has officially entered the trial operation stage.

The project has a total investment of 33 billion yuan and covers an area of about 5000 mu. It is the largest single project in Nanchong's industrial field. The project revolves around green chemical products and uses natural gas as raw materials. After completion, it will help Nanchong City to build an integrated industrial park of green energy and new chemical materials in the central and western regions, and inject strong momentum into the local economic development.

Since its launch in April 2023, the project has successively completed a series of key construction tasks, such as 1,4-butanediol ("BDO") unit, exhaust waste heat recovery and utilization unit, plant-wide control system, plant-wide power supply and distribution facilities, and fire pump room in front of the plant.

Project Overview

the project, with a total investment of 33 billion yuan, is located in Hexi Chemical Industry Park, Nanchong Economic Development Zone. It uses natural gas acetylene aldehyde method to build a total of 600000 tons/year BDO, 500000 tons/year PBAT and 300000 tons/year spandex. The project is implemented in three phases, of which the first phase is divided into two lines A and B: Line A includes 50000 tons/year of acetylene from natural gas, 2 × 240000 tons/year of formaldehyde from acetylene tail gas, 150000 tons/year of BDO unit, and supporting public utilities, environmental protection projects and service projects such as production command center, cultural center, control center and science and technology innovation center; line B includes 50000 tons/year of acetylene from natural gas, 240000 tons/year of formaldehyde from acetylene tail gas, 150000 tons/year of BDO unit, 60000 tons/year of PBAT unit, 60000 tons/year of PTMEG unit, and supporting public utilities and environmental protection projects. The project is implemented in three phases:

phase I: 300000 tons/year BDO, 60000 tons/year PBAT and 60000 tons/year PTMEG production scale.
Phase II: 300000 tons/year BDO production scale.
Phase III: The project uses BDO produced in Phase I and Phase II as raw materials, extends downstream, and constructs the remaining PBAT device, PTMEG device and spandex device.

Chen Jiansheng, deputy general manager of Sichuan Yongying New Materials Co., Ltd., introduced that a few days ago, the steel structure, civil engineering, equipment installation, pipeline welding and other construction contents of the first phase A line of Sichuan Yongying New Materials Project have been basically completed, and the mechanical completion has been realized. At present, it has entered the production preparation stage of commissioning, and some equipment and instrument debugging and "three checks and four determination" are being carried out. It is expected that natural gas will be introduced in early December, and oven drying, boiling and purging will begin. It is expected to be put into operation within the year.

It is understood that Sichuan Yongying New Material Project is the largest single project in Nanchong's industrial field. The project uses natural gas as raw material and mainly produces 1,4-butanediol ("BDO"), a green chemical product. After completion, it will help Nanchong to build a green energy chemical new material integrated industrial park in the central and western regions.
