Product Applications

1) epoxy resin

compared with the epoxy resin using Bisphenol F as raw material, the epoxy resin with bisphenol A as raw material has the characteristics of low viscosity and excellent workability, and can be applied to solvent-free to ultra-high solid coating, it can also be applied to lining materials, floor materials, injection materials, dipping materials, laminated materials and other fields.

(2) Polycarbonate Resin

polycarbonate resin made of bisphenol F and phosgene is easily soluble in low boiling point organic solvents such as dichloromethane, with low softening point and good processability. It can be used for elasticity even when it is damaged very much, suitable for manufacturing molding materials or films, etc.

(3) polyester resin

the biphenyl diol prepared by the addition of bisphenol F and alkylene oxide and the resin prepared by the reaction with dibasic acid has low viscosity, excellent mechanical and chemical properties, and is especially suitable for manufacturing corrosion-resistant materials.

(4) Others

bisphenol F can also be used to produce oil-soluble phenolic resin, flame retardant, antioxidant, surfactant, etc.

Production method

It is obtained by the reaction of phenol and formaldehyde in acidic medium.

The production process with strong inorganic acid (such as sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid) as catalyst has many disadvantages, such as the equipment is easy to corrode, and there are many impurities (such as chloromethyl ether and chloromethyl phenol generated by side reaction), which makes separation difficult. Monsanto Company in the United States uses phosphoric acid as catalyst, with good color and high output. The biggest advantage is that phenol has low solubility in phosphoric acid, which is beneficial to product separation and catalyst recycling. The conversion rate of formaldehyde is 90%,4,4 '-, 2,4-2,2'-isomer ratio is 55:37:8. The organic phase is neutralized, filtered and distilled to obtain the product bisphenol F.
