4) Separation of epichlorohydrin: The epichlorohydrin is separated from the mixture by extraction with sulfuric acid. Subsequently, pure epichlorohydrin is extracted by distillation, filtration, etc.
2. Preparation method of epichlorohydrin There are many preparation methods of
epichlorohydrin. The following will introduce two common methods:
1) Chlorinated propylene-hydrogen peroxide method
Chlorinated propylene-hydrogen peroxide method is currently the most widely used epichlorohydrin preparation method. The main steps of the method are the same as the chlorinated propylene and oxychlorinated propylene in the above process, and the specific reaction equation is:
C3H6 Cl2 → C3H5Cl
C3H5Cl H2O2 → C3H5ClO H2O
2) Chlorothermal method
Chlorothermal method is a new type of epichlorohydrin preparation method. The main steps of the method are as follows:
(1) chlorine gas is introduced into the organic solvent at a constant constant flow rate to generate chlorides. The organic solvent may be benzene, toluene or the like.
(2) The chloro compound is reacted with an excess of an oxidizing agent to produce epichlorohydrin. In the reaction, the oxidizing agent may be chromium trioxide, sodium perchlorate, etc.
