Recently, the civil engineering of the PC & BPA joint plant of Fujian Gulei 1.5 million tons/year ethylene and downstream deep processing consortium project undertaken by the South China Branch of China Chemical Engineering Third Construction Co., Ltd. officially started.

Fujian Gulei 1.5 million tons/year ethylene and downstream deep processing consortium project is located in Gulei Port Economic Development Zone, Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province. It is jointly constructed by Saudi Arabia Basic Industry Corporation (SABIC), Fujian Energy and Petrochemical Group, and Zhangzhou Jiulongjiang Group. It is the largest one-time investment Sino-foreign joint venture project in Fujian Province so far. It is an important achievement of the "Belt and Road" initiative and Saudi Arabia's "2030 Vision, it is a key project of production capacity and investment cooperation between China and Saudi Arabia, and the third batch of national major foreign investment special class projects. It is highly valued by the leaders of China and Saudi Arabia. During the construction of the civil engineering and installation of the ethylene accessory unit and the civil engineering of the PP (polypropylene) unit, the branch company was praised by the owner for many times by virtue of high-quality service, standardized management and excellent engineering entity quality, established a good corporate image and market reputation, and successfully undertook the project PC unit, acetone raw material tank farm (acetone tank farm), and PC unit phenol raw material tank farm (phenol tank farm),BPA unit, PC intermediate tank area I (BPA return tank area), PC intermediate tank area II (DPC tank area) and other construction tasks.

Fujian Gulei 1.5 million tons/year ethylene and downstream deep processing consortium project is the largest one-time Sino-foreign joint venture project in Fujian Province so far. It is jointly constructed by Saudi Arabia Basic Industry Corporation (SABIC), Fujian Energy and Petrochemical Group, and Zhangzhou Jiulongjiang Group. The project is an important achievement of the docking of the "Belt and Road Initiative" initiative and Saudi Arabia's "2030 Vision", and is of great significance to further consolidate and deepen the friendly and cooperative relations between China and Saudi Arabia.

Project Profile

fujian Gulei 1.5 million Tons/Year Ethylene and Downstream Deep Processing Consortium Project (Zhongsha Gulei Ethylene Project) has a total investment of 42.07 billion million yuan, a total land use of 297.1855 hectares, and a total of 14 chemical plants such as 1.5 million Tons/Year ethylene and downstream plants, with an estimated construction period of 54 months.

construction scale

ethylene and downstream-ethylene production scale is 1.5 million tons/year, ethylene downstream is planned to build 10/1 million tons/year ethylene oxide/ethylene glycol, 400000 tons/year HDPE, 600000 tons/year mLLDPE/HDPE and 50000 tons/year hexene -1. Propylene and downstream-Propylene downstream is planned to build 400000 tons/year polypropylene (impact/random) and 550000 tons/year polypropylene (homopolymerization/random). There are also some downstream planning and construction of 25/150000 tons/year phenol acetone, 270000 tons/year bisphenol A and 290000 tons/year polycarbonate. In addition, 910000 tons/year pyrolysis gasoline hydrogenation (including styrene extraction), 220000 tons/year butadiene extraction, 56000 tons/year butene-1 unit and 570000 tons/year aromatics extraction will be built.

In terms of process, the project uses low-pressure gas-phase fluidized bed technology to produce mLLDPE/HDPE, slurry process technology to produce bimodal HDPE, ethylene oligomerization process technology to produce hexene -1, gas-phase fluidized bed process technology to produce homopolymerization/atactic polypropylene, and gas-phase horizontal stirred bed process technology to produce impact polypropylene.
