On March 25, Kangda New Materials issued an announcement, in order to deepen the implementation of the strategic layout of the new material industry chain of Kangda New Materials (Group) Co., Ltd., and further enhance the production capacity of epoxy resin products of the company's holding subsidiary Dalian Qihua New Materials Co., Ltd. To achieve scale effects and carry out product differentiation competition, Dalian Qihua plans to invest in the construction of the "80000 tons of electronic-grade epoxy resin expansion project", the total investment is expected to be 0.4 billion yuan (the final investment amount shall be subject to the actual investment in the project construction).

Kangda New Materials said that the earliest R & D and production of epoxy resin began in Germany in the 1930 s. After more than 80 years of development, the variety of epoxy resin products has been relatively rich, the quality has been continuously upgraded and its application fields have been very extensive. At present, the global epoxy resin production capacity is mainly distributed in China, South Korea, Western Europe, the United States and China Taiwan and other regions. The growth of epoxy resin demand is mainly driven by the consumption growth of downstream electronic and electrical, coatings and composite materials. The consumption structure of epoxy resin is closely related to economic development. The more developed the economy and the higher the living standard, the higher the consumption of epoxy resin.

At present, China's epoxy resin is moving in the six directions of "high purity, refinement, specialization, matching, functionalization, serialization", in order to meet the different performance requirements of epoxy resin in various industries. The application of epoxy resin has promoted technological changes in many fields, and has played an important role in my country's industrial upgrading, the "stuck neck" problem of key high-end products, and the realization of import substitution.

The epoxy resin produced in this project is mainly used in electronic materials, coatings, composite materials, functional coatings and adhesives. Among them, electronic materials are one of the main applications of epoxy resin, which are used in the substrate of copper clad laminate, electronic packaging, printed circuit board ink, etc. There are many kinds of copper clad laminate, and the copper clad laminate with epoxy resin as the substrate accounts for more than 70% of the total copper clad laminate. With the promotion of major industrial transformation and upgrading strategies such as "made in China 2025", "strong foundation project" and "Internet +", China's electronic information industry will maintain rapid growth. As an important basic material, the macro environment for the stable development of copper clad laminate industry will not change greatly in the short term, and the domestic demand for special epoxy resin will increase year by year.
