Recently, the safety and environmental protection project of moving one kilometer out of the Yangtze River implemented by Mitsubishi Chemical Polymer Materials (Nantong) Co., Ltd. is accelerating.

The project investment is nearly 1 billion yuan.

According to relevant departments, the total investment of the project is 0.99 billion yuan, of which the environmental protection investment is 80 million yuan. The nature of the project is relocation. The relocation construction site is located in the south of Jianghe Road and the west of Tongda Road in Nantong Development Zone, Jiangsu Province, covering an area of about 150 mu. The construction period of the project is 3 years.

The project adopts mature and reliable low-temperature continuous bulk polymerization process, and a set of distributed control system (DCS) is set to realize centralized control, and the process safety interlocking system of the device adopts ESD. After the completion of the project, it will form an annual production capacity of 70000 tons of acrylic resin molding materials and 40 tons of acrylic coating resin.

Acrylic resin molding materials for this project are widely used in vehicle lamps, light guide plates for computers and televisions, lighting covers, exterior parts of home appliances, cosmetic containers, etc. The acrylic coating resin is a solution and dispersion of an acrylic resin, and is widely used as a coating adhesive and a primer for interior and exterior coatings of automobiles, building materials, home appliances, display screens, and the like.

Mitsubishi Chemical Polymer Materials (Nantong) Co., Ltd. specializes in the production and sales of acrylic resin (PMMA) products. It is an enterprise established in China by Mitsubishi Chemical, a world-renowned chemical giant in Japan. Its main products are various acrylic resin products such as molding materials, plates, coatings, etc.

In September 2001, Japan's Mitsubishi Chemical Co., Ltd. and Japan's Marubeni Co., Ltd. jointly invested and established

In March 2017, Mitsubishi Liyang Polymer Materials (Nantong) Co., Ltd. changed its name to Mitsubishi Chemical Polymer Materials (Nantong) Co., Ltd.

the existing factory area of Mitsubishi Chemical Polymer Materials (Nantong) Co., Ltd. is located at No. 6 Guangzhou Road, Nantong Economic and Technological Development Zone, with a total area of about 200000 m². The existing production capacity is 70000 tons/year polymethyl methacrylate particles (acrylic resin molding material/PMMA particles), 20000 tons/year acrylic plate (PMMA plate), 9100 tons/year acrylic coating resin and 100 tons/year UV curable coating.

At present, Nantong Economic and Technological Development Zone is undergoing "space reengineering", and chemical companies located within 1km along the river will gradually withdraw. In order to actively cooperate with the local government to improve the safety and environmental protection of one kilometer along the river in the chemical north area of the development zone, the enterprise plans to relocate as a whole.

Production equipment with an annual output of 70000 tons of acrylic resin molding material and 40 tons of acrylic coating resin (the production capacity of 70000 tons of acrylic resin molding material and 10 tons of acrylic coating resin for pre-filing is adjusted in subsequent formal filing). After the new device is put into operation, the production devices of 70000 tons/year PMMA particles, 20000 tons/year PMMA plate, 9100 tons/year acrylic coating resin and 100 tons/year UV curable coating in the original factory area will be dismantled.
