Sinochem International's carbon three phase I project has made significant progress since 2022, and the main devices in the project have been completed and put into operation. Among them, the commissioning of the propane dehydrogenation (PDH) plant with an annual output of 600000 tons marks the completion of the project and the successful integration of the whole industrial chain of epoxy resin and other products. Project situation

the project mainly produces phenol acetone, bisphenol A, epoxy chloropropane, epoxy resin and other fine chemical products. Among them, the annual output of 400000 tons of propylene oxide plant is one of the core of the project, which is expected to be put into operation on November 8, and qualified products are expected to be produced in early December. These products are widely used in industries such as pharmaceuticals, pesticides and dyes, as well as new materials, new energy and other traditional businesses.

New Point of Demand for Propylene Oxide

dimethyl carbonate (DMC) is a kind of product with low toxicity and excellent environmental performance. In the context of green chemistry, new energy promotion and sustainable development, dimethyl carbonate (DMC) is widely used in the industrial field. In addition to traditional adhesives, coatings and developers, lithium battery electrolyte solvents have accounted for 30% of DMC downstream applications in recent years, becoming the main application area of this product. In terms of product purity, the lower purity of industrial-grade dimethyl carbonate is mainly used in traditional downstream and polycarbonate (PC), while lithium battery electrolytes require higher purity battery-grade dimethyl carbonate. At present, the main suppliers of battery-grade DMC are Shi Dasheng Hua (75000 tons/year), Oak shares (20000 tons/year) and so on. In the future, companies that will enter this market include Xinzhoubang, Sinochem Quanzhou, Zhejiang Petrochemical, Hualu Hengsheng, etc. In the next 3-5 years, the new project capacity of domestic carbonate series products will exceed 4 million tons/year, which will bring new demand for propylene oxide market.
