On October 18, the comprehensive delivery ceremony of the 600000-ton/year propylene oxide phase I project of Sinochem Tianchen (Quanzhou) New Materials Co., Ltd. was held, marking the completion of the construction task of the project on schedule, realizing the transformation from "blueprint" to "reality", and will soon be transferred to the stage of linkage trial operation and start-up. Chen Sharon and Yang Xinzhi, leaders of Quangang Petrochemical Industrial Park Management Committee, attended the ceremony.

During the activity, the project site of Sinochem Tianchen (Quanzhou) New Materials Co., Ltd. was used as a sub-venue to hold activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of China Tianchen Engineering Co., Ltd., and connected with the main venue. Under the common witness of the participants, a comprehensive certificate of delivery was signed.

The first phase of the 600000-ton/year propylene oxide project of Sinochem Tianchen (Quanzhou) New Materials Co., Ltd. was officially launched on July 12, 2022. The civil construction safety was realized on November 30 of the same year, and the large-scale hoisting was realized on May 19, 2023. The important node was fully delivered on October 18, and the construction task was successfully completed.

Brief Introduction of 600000 Tons/Year PO Project

main construction contents of the project

according to the previous EIA announcement, the 600000-ton/year propylene oxide project was built by China Chemical Tianchen (Quanzhou) New Materials Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Tianchen Engineering Co., Ltd., with a total area of more than 1000 mu and a total investment of 7.38 billion yuan. The project is located in Nanshan District of Quangang Petrochemical Park. The total construction period of the project is 36 months, using HPPO process.

The project is implemented in two phases: the first phase is to build a 1 × 300000 tons/year hydrogen peroxide propylene oxide plant, a 2 × 450000 tons/year 27.5 hydrogen peroxide plant (with a 1 × 450000 tons/year 50% hydrogen peroxide concentration process), and a raw material and finished product tank group, public auxiliary projects such as air separation air pressure, refrigeration station, loading and unloading pallet, circulating water station, condensate refining system, accident water tank, total transformer and unit substation, electromechanical instrument maintenance, chemical warehouse, torch, incineration, sewage station, etc., 1 × 300000 tons/year hydrogen peroxide propylene oxide unit and 2 × 450000 tons/year hydrogen peroxide unit (equipped with 1 × 450000 tons/year 50% hydrogen peroxide concentration process), at the same time supporting the construction of public works and environmental protection projects.

Independent research and development of HPPO technology through the identification of scientific and technological achievements

in May 2022, the hydrogen peroxide propylene oxide technology (HPPO) independently developed by Tianchen Company passed the appraisal of scientific and technological achievements organized by Tianjin Science and Technology Achievement Evaluation Center.

An academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Professor Jian Xicao of Dalian University of Technology served as the director of the appraisal committee. The members of the appraisal committee are composed of experts from Nankai University, Tianjin University, Tianjin Polytechnic University, Tianjin University of Technology, Tianjin Bohai Chemical Group, and CNOOC Tianjin Chemical Research Institute. The participating experts listened carefully to project work reports, technical research reports, technical innovation points and novelty search reports, carefully reviewed technical materials, and conducted on-site inquiries and in-depth and detailed discussions.

After a comprehensive review, the experts of the appraisal committee unanimously agreed that Tianchen Company independent research and development the hydrogen peroxide method propylene oxide technology (HPPO) through the identification of scientific and technological achievements, the overall technology of the research results has reached the international advanced level.
