On May 10, Hainan Huasheng New Material Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Hainan Huasheng"), which was undertaken by China Chengda Engineering Co., Ltd. for basic design and detailed design polycarbonate Project (Phase I) 240,000 tons/year the phenol a plant has completed the full cycle operation and produced qualified phenol A products, marking the success of the first feeding and driving of the phenol a plant and fully transferred to the production trial operation stage..

The phenol a plant is one of the main devices in Hainan Huasheng polycarbonate project, using KBR/MCC phenol a technology. The device will effectively reduce the feed stock Cost of PC devices downstream of bisphenol A and improve the upstream industrial chain of polycarbonate new materials, which is of great significance to the adjustment of Hainan Huasheng industry and product structure and the transformation and upgrading to the high-tech new materials industry.

The first phase of the project has a total investment of 4.5 billion yuan, mainly building 224,000 tons/year diphenyl carbonate plant, 260,000 tons/year polycarbonate plant and other two major process production units, 240,000 tons/year phenol a plant, 100,000 tons/year dimethyl carbonate plant and related supporting facilities. The total investment of the second phase of the project is 13 billion yuan, and a 600,000 ton/year propane dehydrogenase unit, a 40/240,000 ton/year phenol/acetone unit, a 400,000 ton/year polypropylene unit, A set of 240,000 tons/year phenol a plant, a set of 100,000 tons/year dimethyl carbonate plant, a set of 260,000 tons polycarbonate plant, and to the downstream industry planning PC modification, forming 100,000 tons/year PC alloy scale. Hainan Huasheng polycarbonate project is a large-scale industrial project in Hainan province and a key project in Dongfang city. After completion, it will fill the gap of polycarbonate industry in Hainan province and is of great significance to promote the transformation and upgrading of Hainan industry and the development of high quality economy.

In 2021, Zhongsha, Pingmei Shenma and Zhejiang Petrochemical were completed and put into operation one after another, and the total domestic production capacity of bisphenol A increased by 660,000 tons/year to 2.64 million tons/year. In 2022, with the production of Huasheng in Hainan, and the 240,000 tons of Jiangsu Ruiheng, 200,000 tons of Guangxi Huayi, Cangzhou Dahua Co., Ltd 200,000 tons and other devices will be completed and put into operation one after another. At the end of 2022, the total domestic production capacity of bisphenol A is expected to surge to more than 3.5 million tons/year.
