Acetylurea and hydantoin are two similar but distinct organic compounds. There are obvious differences in chemical structure and use.

From the chemical structure, the molecular formula of acetyl urea is C3H6N2O, which is the product of the reaction of acetyl chloride and urea. Hydantoin, which has the formula C4H8N2O2, is the product of the reaction of acetyl chloride with urea.
