Dioctyl is a widely used chemical production raw material, mainly used in the production of plasticizers and stabilizers. The following is the manufacturing method of dioctyl fat:

1. raw materials to prepare

1. Caprylic acid: Caprylic acid is the main raw material of dioctyl fat, which needs to be purchased from the market.
2. Ethanol: Ethanol as solvent and reaction medium, also need to prepare.

2. reaction process

1. octanoic acid and ethanol according to a certain molar ratio into the reaction kettle, the general octanoic acid and ethanol molar ratio of 1:2.5.
2. Turn on the stirring to mix the octanoic acid and ethanol thoroughly.
3. Heat the reaction kettle and control the reaction temperature at 80-100 ℃ to make the esterification reaction between octanoic acid and ethanol.
4. The azeotrope of water and ethanol is produced during the esterification reaction. The azeotrope is separated by a fractionating column, ethanol is collected for recycling, and water is discharged from the system.

3. post-treatment

1. when the esterification reaction in the reactor to a certain extent, stop heating, cooling the reactor to room temperature.
2. The reaction solution was poured into a separatory funnel and washed with water several times to remove the remaining acid and alcohol in the reaction solution.
3. The washed dioctyl liquid was dried with anhydrous sodium sulfate, and the sodium sulfate was removed by filtration.
4. Finally, the pure dioctyl product is obtained by distillation.
