Manufacturing method
of nitrogen
In the field of raw materials for chemical production, there are two main methods for manufacturing nitrogen: air separation method and nitrogen compound reduction method. This article will detail these two manufacturing methods.
1. air separation method
air separation method is by cooling the air to the liquefying point, and then using the characteristics of the different boiling points of its components, the use of distillation method to separate nitrogen. This method is widely used in production because of its simple principle, relatively easy operation, and high product purity.
1. Brief introduction of the process
air enters the bottom of the air separation tower after compression, cooling and purification treatment. In the tower, the air is gradually cooled, and impurities such as water vapor and carbon dioxide are adsorbed or condensed. Subsequently, the pure air is further cooled in the tower, and the oxygen, nitrogen and other components are gradually separated. Through the rectification process, nitrogen is distilled from the top of the column, and oxygen is obtained from the bottom of the column.
2. technical characteristics of
air separation nitrogen has the advantages of high product purity, no impurity gas, simple operation and so on. However, this method has high energy consumption, requires large-scale equipment, and has high investment cost.
2. Nitrogen Compound Reduction Method
The
Nitrogen Compound Reduction Method is a method by reducing a nitrogen compound such as ammonia, nitrate, or the like to nitrogen gas. This method is suitable for specific occasions, such as the treatment of nitrogen-containing waste, the recovery of nitrogen, etc.
1. Process Introduction
Taking ammonia as an example, the nitrogen compound reduction method first passes ammonia into the reaction furnace. Under the action of high temperature and catalyst, ammonia is decomposed into nitrogen and hydrogen. The reaction equation is: 2NH3 = N2 3H2. By controlling the reaction conditions, the ratio of nitrogen and hydrogen can be made to meet the requirements.
2. Technical characteristics
nitrogen compounds reduction method has the advantages of small equipment investment, simple operation and so on. However, the nitrogen produced by this method has a low purity and may contain unreacted raw material gases and other impurity gases. In addition, the activity and selectivity of the catalyst have a great influence on the product quality and yield.
In actual production, a suitable nitrogen production method can be selected according to specific needs and conditions. For large-scale production and high-purity nitrogen demand, the air separation method is more applicable; and for specific occasions and lower purity requirements, the nitrogen compound reduction method may be more economical and practical. When choosing a manufacturing method, it is also necessary to consider factors such as equipment investment, operating costs, and environmental impact.
In general, the methods for producing nitrogen gas mainly include an air separation method and a nitrogen compound reduction method. These two methods have their own advantages and disadvantages, and are suitable for different production needs and occasions. In practical applications, it is necessary to select and optimize according to specific needs and conditions to improve the economic benefits and environmental friendliness of nitrogen manufacturing.
