Epoxidized soybean oil (Epoxysoybean Oil, referred to as ESO) is a material with important applications in the field of chemical production raw materials. It is a light yellow transparent oily liquid with good thermal stability and oxidation resistance, and is compatible with many resins and polymers. It is widely used as a plasticizer and stabilizer for plastics and rubber.
1. Properties of Epoxidized Soybean Oil
Epoxidized Soybean Oil is a compound obtained by epoxidizing soybean oil. Its molecular structure contains a number of epoxy groups, these groups make the epoxy soybean oil has a good reactivity, can be with active hydrogen compounds ring-opening addition reaction. The physical properties of
epoxidized soybean oil include a density of about 0.98g/cm³, a viscosity of about 45cps(25°C), a flash point greater than 200°C, and a refractive index of about 1.47. In addition, epoxidized soybean oil also has good thermal stability and can maintain good performance under high temperature conditions.
2. epoxy soybean oil use
1. plastic plasticizer
epoxy soybean oil can be used as plastic plasticizer, can improve the processing performance and flexibility of plastic, reduce the hardness and brittleness of plastic. It has good compatibility with polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and other resins, and is widely used in the manufacture of PVC wire and cable, artificial leather, hose and other products.
2. Heat stabilizer
Epoxy soybean oil has good thermal stability and can be used as a heat stabilizer for plastics and rubber to prevent thermal oxidative degradation during high temperature processing and use. It can improve the heat resistance and aging resistance of the product and extend the service life of the product.
3. Antioxidant
Epoxidized soybean oil has certain antioxidant properties and can be used as an antioxidant to prevent the oxidative deterioration of oils and fatty acids. It can extend the storage period and service life of grease, and improve the quality and stability of the product.
In short, epoxidized soybean oil, as an important raw material for chemical production, has a wide range of applications in plastics, rubber, grease and other fields.
