[Chemical Knowledge]:From the suction pump principle, to understand this practical tool

The suction pump is a kind of mechanical tool widely used in laboratory, industrial production and other occasions. Its main function is to generate low pressure, so that the gas or liquid in the container is sucked into the pipeline, so as to realize various adsorption, filtration, transfer and other operations. So, how does the suction pump achieve this process?

simply, the principle of the suction pump is to use the cylinder, piston and other related mechanisms to produce a low pressure area, so as to create the conditions for suction. The specific operation process is as follows:

1. Cylinder piston movement: When the cylinder piston moves outward, the gas or liquid in the container is sucked into the pipeline by the effect of the air pressure difference. With the movement of the piston, the gas or liquid will continue to move along the pipe, into the next step of processing.

2. Low-pressure area: When the piston moves outward, it will also push the gas in the cylinder to the pipe connected to the suction valve. Since the volume of this portion of gas is finite, as the piston continues to move, the gas is compressed and a low pressure region is created. This low-pressure region is the basis for achieving suction, because when the gas or liquid in the container enters this region, it will be strongly attracted.

3. Piston return: After the gas or liquid in the container is sucked into the pipeline, the work of the air pump is basically completed. At this time, the piston will quickly return to the initial position, and the gas in the cylinder will be discharged. Next, when the gas is pumped into the container again, the above process can be repeated.
the working principle of the
pump is so simple and clear, in practical applications, it needs to be flexibly used in combination with specific scenarios and needs. For example, in the laboratory, air pumps are usually used for suction, filtration, distillation, drying, etc.; in industrial production, they can be used for powder transportation, filling, packaging and sealing. In general, the air pump is a highly practical tool that can provide effective support for our various operations.

Of course, the use of suction pumps also requires attention to some details. For example, during operation, ensure that the passage of the suction pipe is unblocked to avoid interception of gas or liquid; at the same time, pay attention to controlling the speed of the cylinder piston to avoid problems such as recoil.

in daily life, although the pump is not very common, but in many areas have an important role. Familiar with its principle and use method, can let us better grasp its use skills, improve work efficiency and operation safety.
