Pure acrylic emulsion is a Milky White liquid, mainly composed of acrylic acid propylene copolymer, ethylene glycol, water and so on. Pure acrylic emulsion has excellent water resistance, weather resistance, adhesion and chemical resistance, widely used in construction, coatings, adhesives, printing dyes and other fields. This article will introduce the preparation process of pure acrylic emulsion from two aspects of production process and preparation method.
1. Production Process
The production of pure acrylic emulsion is mainly divided into the following steps:
1. Preparation of raw materials: Polyacrylic acid propylene copolymer is one of the main raw materials for the preparation of pure acrylic emulsion. High-quality polyacrylic acid propylene copolymer is required. At the same time, also need to prepare ethylene glycol, water, surfactants, stabilizers and other auxiliary raw materials.
2. Monomer reaction: add raw materials such as polyacrylic acid propylene copolymer, ethylene glycol, water, surfactant and the like into a reaction kettle according to a certain proportion, introduce nitrogen, heat to a certain temperature, stir evenly, make the raw materials fully dissolved, and add initiator such as hydrogen peroxide to carry out monomer reaction.
3. Emulsification reaction: After the monomer reaction, auxiliary raw materials such as stabilizers are added to the reaction kettle to start the emulsification reaction. In this process, it is necessary to strictly control the reaction temperature, pH value, stirring speed and other parameters, so that the reaction to achieve the best conditions to ensure the smooth progress of the emulsification reaction.
4. Filtration, concentration and pH adjustment: After the emulsification reaction is completed, the emulsion needs to be filtered and concentrated, and the pH value is adjusted according to the needs to ensure the stable quality of the finished product, and finally the finished pure acrylic emulsion is obtained.
2. preparation method
the preparation method of pure acrylic emulsion is mainly divided into the following two kinds:
1, free radical emulsion polymerization method: this method uses free radical initiator to initiate polymerization reaction, can obtain high molecular weight, good dispersion of pure acrylic emulsion. The main advantages of this method are short emulsification reaction time, high yield, and suitable for the production of high-performance pure acrylic emulsion.
2, ion exchange emulsion polymerization method: this method is the use of ion exchange resin as an initiator to initiate polymerization, the resulting pure acrylic emulsion molecular weight distribution is narrow, good stability. This method requires long reaction time and complicated process, but it can produce pure acrylic emulsion with excellent performance.
In summary, the production process and preparation method of pure acrylic emulsion are very important, and have a great influence on the quality and performance of the finished product of pure acrylic emulsion. In actual production, the appropriate production process and preparation method should be selected according to different use requirements and market demand to ensure stable product quality and excellent performance.
