On June 24, Changhua Chemical Technology (Lianyungang) Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Changhua Chemical, held a grand groundbreaking ceremony for the carbon dioxide polyether and high-performance polyol project in Xuwei New District, Lianyungang.

The total investment of the project is about 5.8 billion yuan, covering an area of about 659 mu, and will be constructed in stages. The first phase of the project plan includes an annual output of 80000 tons of carbon dioxide polyether plant, 300000 tons polyether polyol the plant, 360000 tons of polymer polyether polyol plant and 800 tons of catalyst plant are expected to be completed and put into operation in June 2025.

The project has a wide range of application fields, which can not only realize the high-value utilization of carbon dioxide and practice the national "double carbon" strategy, but also further improve the upstream and downstream industrial system of the new area. It is a key strong chain, supplementary chain and extended chain project of Lianyungang petrochemical industry.

As a leading enterprise in the domestic polyether subdivision industry, Changhua Chemical has successfully broken through a series of technical problems in the industrialization of carbon dioxide polyether products and filled the domestic gap in the technical cooperation with the British company. This project is not only an important practice of Changhua Chemical under the concept of scientific and technological innovation and low-carbon environmental protection, but also an important measure to actively respond to the national "double carbon" strategy and promote the development of green chemical industry.
