Recently, it was learned that Sichuan zhengdakai new materials co., ltd., built by Shaanxi branch of China chemical engineering third construction co., ltd. and nine companies of the installation project, with an annual output of 1.2 million tons of MEG and 100000 tons of electronic grade DMC new materials, was successfully completed in the first phase of the ethylene glycol plant rectification unit rectification tower 02T3005B, marking the successful completion of the "acceleration key" for the project construction ". The hoisting is the first large piece of equipment of the project, weighing 224 tons.

Zhengdakai 1.2 million tons of ethylene glycol co-production 100000 tons of electronic-grade dimethyl carbonate new material project uses natural gas as raw material, compresses, desulfurizes, converts and produces synthesis gas. the total investment of the project is 12.2 billion yuan. the core process technology of ethylene glycol co-production of dimethyl carbonate of Shanghai pujing chemical technology co., ltd. is adopted, and China chengda engineering co., ltd. is used for engineering design. It is planned to be fully put into operation in 2026.

On November 25, 2022, Shanghai Pujing Chemical Technology Co., Ltd. and Sichuan Zhengdakai New Materials Co., Ltd. held a special meeting on the construction of 1.2 million tons of MEG and 100000 tons of electronic-grade DMC new materials project and a signing ceremony for the technology implementation license contract in Dazhou, Sichuan.

On the same day, China Chengda Engineering Co., Ltd. signed an EPC contract with Sichuan Zhengda Kai New Materials Co., Ltd.

Project Overview

sichuan Zhengdakai New Materials Co., Ltd. has an annual output of 1.2 million tons of MEG and 100000 tons of electronic-grade DMC new materials. The project is planned to be built in Puguang Chemical Park, Puguang Economic Development Zone, Sichuan Province. The main construction contents include: 1.2 million tons of polyester-grade ethylene glycol and 100000 tons of electronic-grade dimethyl carbonate (DMC). The total investment of the project is 12268.65 million yuan, of which environmental protection investment is 250.9 million yuan.

The project uses natural gas from Puguang Purification Plant as the feed gas, which is compressed and desulfurized, and then sent to the natural gas conversion unit, which uses pure oxygen conversion technology to produce synthesis gas, then removes CO2 by MDEA method, enters H2/CO cryogenic and PSA pressure swing adsorption, and separates H2 and CO. CO and purchased methanol to synthesize DMO,H2 and DMO to synthesize ethylene glycol, and by-product ethanol, mixed monohydric alcohol, heavy diol, light diol and other products.

Dimethyl carbonate is produced by the solid phase method of dimethyl oxalate of Pujing Chemical, that is, the decarbonylation of dimethyl oxalate to dimethyl carbonate. DMC is produced using part of the DMO produced by the esterification coupling unit of the ethylene glycol plant as raw material.

The project is divided into two phases of construction

the first phase will build 600000 tons/year of polyester grade ethylene glycol, 18000 tons/year of by-product grade DMC (dimethyl carbonate), 6796 tons/year of chemical pure ethanol, 11900 tons/year of mixed monohydric alcohol, 13500 tons/year of light diol and 12300 tons/year of heavy diol.

Phase II construction of 600000 tons/year polyester grade ethylene glycol co-production electronic grade DMC 100000 tons/year, mixed monohydric alcohol 11900 tons/year, light diol 13500 tons/year, heavy diol 12300 tons/year. Of the 100000 tons of DMC, 36000 tons/year of DMC is obtained by purifying the first and second phases of ethylene glycol by-product grade DMC, and 64000 tons/year is obtained by removing CO from DMO (dimethyl oxalate) synthesized in the second phase.

The first phase of the project is a new set of syngas preparation, ethylene glycol synthesis, air separation and supporting public auxiliary facilities. Phase II new synthesis gas preparation, ethylene glycol synthesis, air separation and supporting public auxiliary facilities. The first phase was originally planned to start in July 2022 and be completed in July 2024. The second phase is planned to start in May 2024 and be completed in October 2026.

After the completion of the project, it will lay a solid foundation for the construction of advanced manufacturing industrial park and the industrial chain of "cooperation between east and west of Zhejiang and Sichuan. It will promote the joint development of petrochemical, food grade PET, new polyester materials, packaging, textile and chemical fiber, logistics and other related upstream and downstream industries in Sichuan and the central and western regions, and form a new new material industry cluster combined with the advantages of local natural gas resources.
