[Industry Focus]:Zhongtian Hechuang Green Carbon Reduction Upgrade Project Accepts Public Announcement of New 200000 Tons/Year Vinyl Acetate and 110000 Tons/Year EVA

Project investment: the total investment of the project is 6122.67 million yuan, of which environmental protection investment is about 83.82 million yuan, accounting for 1.37 of the total investment.

Construction content: existing device tapping efficiency and coupling green hydrogen, green oxygen transformation; at the same time, new 500000 Nm 3/day LNG plant (100 per cent load in winter and 60 per cent load in summer), CO cryogenic separation, 300000 tons/year acetic acid plant, 200000 tons/year vinyl acetate plant, 110000 tons/year EVA device (kettle type polyethylene transformation)4 × 30000 ton/year VAE plant as well as supporting public works, auxiliary production facilities, etc.

Inner Mongolia Zhongtian Hechuang uses GE coal-water slurry gasification, wide-temperature sulfur-resistant transformation, Linde low-temperature methanol washing, Lushi methanol synthesis to produce 3.6 million tons/year methanol, and Sinopec SMTO technology to produce 1.37 million tons of polyolefin. Put into production in 2016.
Zhongtian Co-creation intends to implement a green carbon reduction upgrade. Taking the existing engineering coal gasification plant as a starting point, by adding purchased green hydrogen and refined methanol, the synthesis gas produced by the gasification plant is used to produce olefins, acetic acid and coupled with LNG and other products, and through the reasonable flexible design of the production capacity of each plant, the commodity volume of each product is adjusted according to seasonal changes.

Green hydrogen/green oxygen is provided by Sinopec Xinxing Inner Mongolia Green Hydrogen New Energy Co., Ltd. The supply of green hydrogen is 29100 tons/year, and the supply of green oxygen is 232800 tons/year.
Zhongtian Co-created 14 GE coal slurry gasifiers. After the green carbon reduction upgrade, the operation mode is 11 on and 3 on standby, and the coal slurry preparation system is increased accordingly. The production capacity of a single furnace is 1500t/d (based on dry basis), and the operating pressure is 6.5MPa.
The operation load of the methanol synthesis unit is basically unchanged before and after the implementation of the Project, but since the methanol synthesis gas generated by the purification unit needs to be partially separated for cryogenic separation and liquefied natural gas after the implementation of the Project, the MTO-grade methanol generated by the methanol synthesis unit is less than that before the implementation of the Project. Therefore, 282000 tons/year refined methanol is purchased to ensure the methanol consumption of the subsequent 300000 tons/year acetic acid plant (consuming 162000 tons/year refined methanol) and MTO plant at full load.
CO cryogenic separation adopts domestic process to produce CO product gas with purity of 98.5%. Using partial cold separation process, CO compressor cycle refrigeration.
LNG consists of high temperature methanation (SNG) and natural gas liquefaction units. The scale of high temperature methanation is 22000 m3/h; the scale of natural gas liquefaction is 500000 m3/day. Single-stage mixed refrigeration process is selected for natural gas liquefaction.
The product scale of vinyl acetate plant is 200000 tons/year. Using Sinopec's own gas-phase ethylene process technology. Vinyl acetate was synthesized by gas-phase catalytic oxidation of ethylene and acetic acid in a fixed bed.
Vinyl acetate-ethylene copolymer emulsion (VAE) is produced with vinyl acetate and ethylene as monomers, using semi-continuous
emulsion polymerization, external heat sink kettle type process, the production of different formulations and grades of VAE emulsion products.

It is reported that Zhongtian Hechuang Ordos Coal Deep Processing Demonstration Project (Phase I and Phase II projects) has two coal mines and supporting coal washing plants, with a total production capacity of 25 million tons/year (13 million tons/year for Hucusu Mine and 12 million tons/year for Menkeqing Mine). The chemical industry has two series of coal-to-methanol units, two series of methanol-to-olefin units and five sets of polyolefin units, with a total production capacity of 3.6 million tons/year of methanol (intermediate products) and 1.37 million tons/year of polyethylene and polypropylene plastic products. The thermoelectric system is equipped with 6 high-pressure pulverized coal boilers, which produce 2690 tons/hour of steam and are equipped with 300MW generator sets; the air separation system is equipped with 6 sets of air separation units with oxygen generation capacity of 82000 Nm3/h.
