On October 23, Rongsheng Petrochemical issued an announcement announcing that the 300000-ton/year vinyl acetate plant invested and constructed by its holding subsidiary Zhejiang Petrochemical Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Zhejiang Petrochemical") in Zhoushan Green Petrochemical Base has successfully produced qualified products.

Overview of Zhoushan Project

at present, in the Zhoushan-Zhejiang Free Trade Experimental Zone Zhoushan area Daishan block, Zhejiang Petrochemical is accelerating the construction of green petrochemical advanced manufacturing cluster. High-end new material projects and high-performance resin projects with a total investment of nearly 100 billion yuan are catching up with the production of the first batch of devices this year. The two projects are planned to be put into production one after another before the end of 2025, which will increase the industrial output value by hundreds of billions of yuan.

Project 1 (Zhejiang Petrochemical High-end New Materials Project, with a total investment of 64.1 billion yuan):

on August 17, 2022, Rongsheng Petrochemical issued a notice on investing in high-end new materials projects, which will be built by Zhejiang Petrochemical Company with an estimated investment of 64.1 billion billion yuan to tap the potential and increase efficiency of the relevant devices of the 40 million-ton/year refining and chemical integration project, it is planned to build 4 million tons/year catalytic cracking unit, 350000 tons/year α-olefin unit, 2 × 200000 tons/year POE polyolefin elastomer unit, 80000 tons/year polybutene-1 unit, 1 million tons/year acetic acid unit, 2 × 300000 tons/year vinyl acetate unit, 300000 tons/year EVA/LDPE (tubular) unit, 2 × 150000 tons/year adipic acid unit, 250000 tons/year adiponitrile plant, 280000 tons/year hexamethylene diamine plant, 500000 tons/year nylon 66 salt plant, 600000 tons/year maleic anhydride plant, 500000 tons/year 1,4-butanediol plant, 200000 tons/year PBS plant, 120000 tons/year polytetrahydrofuran plant, 30000 tons/year NMP plant, 270000 tons/year nitric acid plant, 660000 tons/year acrylonitrile plant, 200000 tons/year SAR plant, 300000 standard/hour CO2 reforming plant, 1 million tons/year methanol plant, 600000 tons/year ammonia synthesis plant, 240000 tons/year bisphenol A plant, etc. and related utility installations.

Project II (high-performance resin project, with a total investment of 19.2 billion yuan):

using the chemicals produced in the first and second phases of Zhejiang Petrochemical Company as the main raw materials, a 300000-ton/year LDPE/EVA (tubular) device, a 100000-ton/year EVA (kettle type) device, a 400000-ton/year LDPE device, a 200000-ton/year DMC device, a 3 × 60000-ton/year PMMA device and a 1.2 million-ton/year ABS device are newly built.

Project III (1.4 million tons/year ethylene and downstream chemical plant project, with a total investment of 34.5 billion yuan):

project content: newly built 1.4 million tons/year ethylene, 300000 tons/year vinyl acetate, 380000 tons/year polyether polyol, 27/600000 tons/year PO/SM, 40/250000 tons/year phenol acetone, 250000 tons/year butadiene extraction, 350000 tons/year high density polyethylene, 400000 tons/year ABS, 100000 tons/year HRG latex, 60000 tons/year fused styrene-butadiene & 100000 tons/year rare earth cis-butadiene rubber, 750000 tons/year pyrolysis gasoline hydrogenation, 100000 tons/year styrene & 30000 tons/year ethylbenzene extraction, 600000 tons/year styrene, 200000 tons/year ethylene carbonate (including 240000 tons/year ethylene glycol plant carbon dioxide recovery), 800000 tons/year ethylene glycol and supporting utilities.

Rongsheng Petrochemical eight industrial clusters

rongsheng Petrochemical has eight production clusters: Hangzhou Headquarters Base, Hangzhou Zhejiang Yisheng Base, Zhoushan Zhejiang Petrochemical Base, Ningbo CICC Base, Ningbo Yisheng New Material Base, Dalian Yisheng Base, Shaoxing Yongsheng Base and Hainan Yisheng Base. Hangzhou headquarters is the company's research and development center and polyester innovation base. Zhoushan Zhejiang Petrochemical Base is a green petrochemical refining and chemical integration base. Ningbo CICC Base is a petrochemical aromatics base. Dalian Yisheng, Hangzhou Zhejiang Yisheng, Ningbo Yisheng New Material, Hainan Yisheng and other bases are PTA production bases. Shaoxing Yongsheng Base is the company's film production base.

Recent Progress of Other Vinyl Acetate Projects

in mid -2023, the 300000-ton/year vinyl acetate plant of the Shenghong Refining and Chemical Integration Project was successfully put into operation and achieved full-load operation, producing qualified products with indicators better than the national standard, and successfully completed the world's largest single-line plant. The set goal of one-time production and operation and reaching the standard.

On May 23, the environmental impact report of the 200000-ton/year vinyl acetate project of Jihua North Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. was published for the first time.

On February 6, Inox announced plans to add a third vinyl acetate monomer (VAM) plant to increase VAM capacity from the current 450000 tons/year to 700000 tons/year. The new plant is scheduled to start at the end of 2025.

Guangxi Huayi Energy and Chemical Co., Ltd. has built a 300000-ton/year vinyl acetate unit in the methanol-to-olefin and downstream deep processing integration project of Qinzhou Base.

Fujian Haiquan Chemical Co., Ltd. of Fujian Energy Chemical Group has built a 200000-ton/year vinyl acetate unit in the first phase of Zhangzhou Gulei Petrochemical Base.
