Recently, there are market rumors that the 180000-ton/year polycarbonate (PC) plant, a new project of Zhangzhou Qimei Chemical Co., Ltd. located in Gulei Port Economic Development Zone, began to be put into production in November.

The geographical advantage of Zhangzhou Qimei Chemical Co., Ltd. is particularly prominent. Its factory is only 83 kilometers away from the port, and it is located at the junction of the two major markets in East China and South China. This geographical location undoubtedly provides great convenience for its product transportation and market expansion. With the blessing of Taiwan's Chimei BUFF, Zhangzhou Chimei will undoubtedly become a force that cannot be ignored in the PC material market.

Although Zhangzhou Chi Mei has an advantage in terms of geography and market, its production process may become a constraint on its development. Due to process limitations, Zhangzhou Qimei may mainly produce sub-brand products or products of similar quality to Luxi and Lihuayi in the early stages of production. Project Overview

zhangzhou Qimei Chemical Co., Ltd. has three phases of projects in Gulei Port Economic Development Zone, with an estimated total production capacity of over 1.1 million tons/year: the first phase is 600000 tons/year ABS and AS projects, which will be put into production in the third quarter of 2021; The second phase is a 350000-ton/year PS project, which will be put into production in the fourth quarter of 2022. The third phase is a 180000-ton/year PC project.

Among them, the 180000-ton/year PC project is planned to be built in the petrochemical industry area of Zhangzhou Gulei Petrochemical Base's overall development plan, and Zhangzhou Qimei Chemical Co., Ltd. has reserved land for this project, with a total land area of 26.28 mu.

The construction scale of the project is to produce 180000 tons of PC plastic per year and build a 180000 tons/year PC production line. The main construction contents include: DPC unit area, PC unit area, PC cooling water tower area, PC chilled water/ORC area, PC raw material/finished tank area, PC intermediate tank area and other supporting construction related public and auxiliary projects.

The total investment of the project is about 2.85 billion yuan, and the total investment in environmental protection is 99.65 million yuan, accounting for 0.35 of the total investment of the project.
