Decane (Decane) is a saturated hydrocarbon, molecular formula C10H22, belonging to the alkane compounds. It is a colorless and transparent liquid at normal temperature and pressure, with typical alkane characteristics and stable chemical properties. Decane has a boiling point of about 174°C, a melting point of about -30°C, a relative density of 0.73, and low polarity and hydrophobicity, which makes it difficult to dissolve in water but easy to dissolve in organic solvents.
