Methylal (Dimethoxymethane,DMM), chemical formula C3H8O2, is a colorless transparent liquid with a slight ether odor. It has a boiling point of about 42°C, a flash point of -30°C, and a density of about 0.86g/cm³. Methylal has good solubility and can dissolve a variety of organic substances, such as fats, oils and resins.
