Polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) is a semi-crystalline thermoplastic polyester. It has excellent mechanical properties, chemical stability and electrical characteristics. The glass transition temperature of PBT is about 22°C, while its melting point is between 223-230°C. Its density is about 1.31-1.40g/cm³. PBT's high rigidity and abrasion resistance make it perform well in many applications, especially in high temperature and humid environments. PBT also has low water absorption and good dimensional stability, which makes it suitable for applications requiring long-term stable performance.

PTA or DMT and BDO are reacted by transesterification under the action of catalyst to produce oligomers, and then PBT is prepared by polycondensation reaction. In the production process, auxiliary materials such as stabilizers, catalysts and antioxidants are also needed to ensure the high quality and stability of PBT.
PBT has a wide range of downstream products, including electronic components, automotive components, home appliance housings, fibers and consumer products. During transportation, attention should also be paid to moisture and mechanical damage to ensure that the material maintains its best performance before use.
