1.4-Butanediol (BDO) is an important organic chemical raw material, widely used in polymers, solvents, plasticizers, pharmaceuticals, pesticides and other fields. The following are several common 1.4-butanediol manufacturing methods:
1. acetylene aldehyde method
acetylene aldehyde method is acetylene and formaldehyde as raw materials, after addition, hydrogenation, refining and other steps to prepare 1,4-Butanediol. This method has the advantages of easy access to raw materials, mild reaction conditions and high selectivity, and is one of the methods widely used at home and abroad. The specific steps are as follows:
(1) acetylene and formaldehyde are added to react in alkaline absorption solution to generate 1,4-butynediol;
(2)1,4-butynediol is hydrogenated under the action of a catalyst to generate 1,4-butenediol;
(3)1,4-butenediol is added to react with water under acidic conditions to generate 1,4-butanediol.
2. maleic anhydride method
maleic anhydride method is based on maleic anhydride as raw material, through hydrogenation, hydrolysis and other reactions to prepare 1,4-butanediol. This method has the advantages of easy availability of raw materials, mild reaction conditions and no catalyst residue, but the product yield is low. The specific steps are as follows:
(1) maleic anhydride is hydrogenated under the action of a hydrogenation catalyst to generate 1,4-succinic acid;
(2)1,4-succinic acid is hydrolyzed under the action of a hydrolysis catalyst to generate 1,4-butanediol.
3. butadiene method
butadiene method is based on butadiene as raw material, through oxidation, hydrolysis, hydrogenation and other reactions to prepare 1,4-butanediol. The method has the advantages of easy availability of raw materials, less reaction steps and high product purity, but the reaction conditions are more harsh. The specific steps are as follows:
(1) butadiene is oxidized under the action of oxidant to generate 1,4-dihydroxy -2-butanone;
(2)1,4-dihydroxy -2-butanone is hydrolyzed under the action of hydrolysis catalyst to generate 1,4-butanedial;
(3)1,4-butanedial is hydrogenated under the action of hydrogenation catalyst to generate 1, 4-Butanediol.
the above three methods can be used to prepare 1,4-butanediol, but different methods have different advantages and disadvantages, and the appropriate method should be selected according to the specific situation. No matter which method is used, it is necessary to strictly control the reaction conditions and the quality of raw materials to ensure the quality and yield of the product.
