Manufacturing methods
of other special rubber
special rubber refers to rubber materials with special properties and uses, such as high temperature resistance, oil resistance, acid and alkali resistance, oxidation resistance, radiation resistance, etc. These special rubbers are widely used in the field of chemical production raw materials, such as aviation, aerospace, military, automotive, petroleum, chemical and other fields. This article will introduce several common manufacturing methods of special rubber.
1. fluorine rubber
fluorine rubber is a kind of special rubber with excellent high temperature resistance, oil resistance, acid and alkali resistance, oxidation resistance and other properties. It is widely used in sealing and shock absorption in harsh environments such as high temperature and high corrosion. There are two main methods for manufacturing fluororubber: emulsion polymerization and solution polymerization.
1. Emulsion polymerization method
The emulsion polymerization method is to add a monomer, an initiator, an emulsifier, etc. to water to form an emulsion, and carry out a polymerization reaction under the action of the initiator to generate fluorine rubber particles. This method has the advantages of simple operation and low production cost, but the resulting product has low molecular weight and poor performance.
2. solution polymerization
solution polymerization method is the monomer, initiator, solvent, etc. into the reaction kettle, under the action of the initiator polymerization reaction, the generation of fluorine rubber. This method can obtain fluorine rubber with high molecular weight and high performance, but the operation is complicated and the production cost is high.
2. silicone rubber
silicone rubber has excellent high temperature resistance, oxidation resistance, radiation resistance and other properties, widely used in aviation, aerospace, electronics and other fields. The manufacturing method of silicone rubber is mainly condensation method and two kinds of molding.
1. Condensation Method The
condensation method is a condensation reaction between a hydroxyl group-containing siloxane and an alkoxy group-containing siloxane under the action of a catalyst to produce a silicone rubber. The method is simple to operate, but the resulting product has low molecular weight and poor performance.
2. Addition type
Addition type is the siloxane containing alkenyl and hydrogen groups in the platinum catalyst under the action of the addition reaction, the formation of silicone rubber. This method can obtain silicone rubber with high molecular weight and high performance, but the operation is complicated and the production cost is high.
3. acrylate rubber
acrylate rubber has excellent oil resistance, heat resistance, ozone resistance and other properties, and is widely used in automotive, petroleum, chemical and other fields. The manufacturing method of acrylate rubber is mainly emulsion polymerization method. In the method, an acrylate monomer, an initiator, an emulsifier, etc. are added to water to form an emulsion, and the polymerization reaction is carried out under the action of the initiator to generate acrylate rubber particles.
4. Neoprene
Neoprene has excellent oil resistance, acid and alkali resistance, heat resistance and other properties, and is widely used in automobiles, wires and cables, shoes and other fields. The manufacturing method of chloroprene rubber is mainly emulsion polymerization. In the method, chloroprene monomer, initiator, emulsifier, etc. are added to water to form an emulsion, and the polymerization reaction is carried out under the action of the initiator to generate chloroprene rubber particles.
In short, the manufacturing method of special rubber needs to be selected according to the specific rubber and performance requirements. Different manufacturing methods will affect the molecular weight and performance of the product, so it needs to be selected and optimized according to the actual situation. At the same time, it is necessary to pay attention to safety, environmental protection and other issues in the production process to ensure product quality and sustainability.
