of Methanol Manufacturing Method
Methanol is an important organic chemical raw material, which is widely used in chemical, pharmaceutical, textile, energy and other fields. In the field of raw materials for chemical production, the manufacturing methods of methanol mainly include synthesis gas to methanol, methane chlorination to methanol, dimethyl carbonate to methanol, etc. These manufacturing methods will be described in detail in this article.
1. syngas legal methanol
syngas legal methanol is the most commonly used production method at home and abroad, mainly with coal, natural gas, coke oven gas, refinery gas as raw materials, after gasification, transformation, purification and other processes, to obtain the appropriate composition of the synthesis gas (CO, H2), and then under a certain pressure and temperature, through the catalyst, synthesis of methanol.
1. Raw Material Gasification The
heats raw material coal, natural gas, or the like to a high temperature and reacts with a gasifying agent (air, oxygen, steam, or the like) to produce a gas mixture containing CO, H2, and the like.
2. Shift
The gas mixture obtained by gasification is subjected to shift reaction to react CO with steam to generate H2 and CO2, and the ratio of H2/CO in the synthesis gas is adjusted.
3. purification
through desulfurization, decarbonization and other processes, the removal of impurities in the synthesis gas, such as sulfide, carbon dioxide.
4. synthesis
The purified synthesis gas is subjected to methanol synthesis reaction under certain pressure, temperature and catalyst. Commonly used catalysts are copper-based catalysts and zinc-chromium catalysts.
2. Methane Chlorination Methanol
Methane Chlorination Methanol is based on natural gas as raw material, through the chlorination reaction to obtain monochloromethane, and then convert it into methanol. The specific steps are as follows:
1. Natural gas chlorination
Mixing natural gas and chlorine gas, chlorination reaction occurs at a certain temperature to generate monochloromethane.
2. monochloromethane conversion
reacts monochloromethane with water vapor under certain conditions to generate methanol and hydrogen chloride.
3. dimethyl carbonate method methanol
dimethyl carbonate method methanol is dimethyl carbonate as raw material, through the hydrolysis reaction of methanol. The specific steps are as follows:
1. Dimethyl carbonate Hydrolysis
Dimethyl carbonate reacts with water at a certain temperature and pressure to generate methanol and carbon dioxide.
2. Separation and purification
Through distillation and other methods, the generated methanol and carbon dioxide are separated to obtain methanol products with higher purity.
three common methanol manufacturing methods are introduced above, namely, synthesis gas to methanol, methane chlorination to methanol and dimethyl carbonate to methanol. Different manufacturing methods have different advantages and disadvantages and scope of application, and it is necessary to choose the appropriate manufacturing method according to the actual situation. At the same time, it is necessary to strictly control the process conditions in the production process to ensure product quality and production safety.
