Manufacturing method
of epoxy resin industry chain
epoxy resin is a high-performance thermosetting resin, with excellent mechanical properties, electrical insulation properties, chemical corrosion resistance and heat resistance, is widely used in the field of chemical production raw materials. The epoxy resin industry chain includes raw materials, manufacturing, processing and application. The manufacturing method of epoxy resin will be introduced below.
1. Raw Materials Preparation
The main raw materials for
epoxy resins are bisphenol A and epichlorohydrin. Bisphenol A is a phenolic compound with two phenolic hydroxyl groups attached to the ends of the benzene ring. Epichlorohydrin is a cyclic ether compound containing three carbon atoms, one of which has a chlorine atom attached to it.
2. Epoxy Resin Synthesis
1. Bisphenol A and Epichlorohydrin Addition Reaction
Bisphenol A and epichlorohydrin according to a certain molar ratio into the reactor, heated to a certain temperature, the addition reaction. The reaction product is bisphenol A diglycidyl ether, also known as an epoxy resin.
2. Addition of Catalyst
In order to accelerate the reaction rate, it is necessary to add an appropriate amount of catalyst. Commonly used catalysts include alkaline catalysts such as sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide.
3. Vacuum Removal of Solvent
After the reaction is completed, the solvent in the reaction solution needs to be removed in vacuo to obtain a crude product of epoxy resin.
3. Epoxy Resin Refined
1. Washing
The crude product is washed with water to remove inorganic salts and acidic substances.
2. Dehydration
The washed epoxy resin is dehydrated with a desiccant to remove moisture therefrom.
3. Filtration and Vacuum Drying
Impurities were removed by filtration and then dried in a vacuum oven to obtain a pure epoxy resin product.
4. the application of epoxy resin
epoxy resin has a wide range of applications, can be used as chemical production raw materials, for the manufacture of coatings, adhesives, composite materials. For example, epoxy resin can be used as a matrix resin, combined with glass fiber and other reinforcing materials to make high-performance composite materials, with the advantages of light weight, high strength, corrosion resistance, etc., are widely used in aerospace, automotive, construction and other fields.
In short, the manufacturing methods of the epoxy resin industry chain include raw material preparation, epoxy resin synthesis, refining and application. By mastering the appropriate synthesis process and refining technology, high-quality epoxy resin products can be prepared to meet the application needs of different fields.
