Chlorophenol is an important organic compound and one of the derivatives of phenol. Chlorophenols are widely used in chemical, pharmaceutical, pesticide and other industries. Production process of 1. chlorophenols
there are many methods for the production of chlorinated phenols, such as chlorinated phenol method, chlorinated methylene phenol method and direct chlorination method.
1.1 chlorinated phenol method
chlorinated phenol method is one of the traditional production processes of chlorinated phenol. The process principle is to react phenol with chlorine gas in a secondary reactor to generate chlorinated phenol. Its chemical reaction equation is:
C6H5OH Cl2 → C6H5Cl HCl
the advantages of this method are simple reaction process and high product purity. However, there are problems such as the difficulty of chemical waste gas and wastewater treatment.
1.2 chlorinated methylene phenol method
the chlorinated methylene phenol method is a more environmentally friendly production process than the chlorinated phenol method. The process principle is to react methylene phenol with chlorine gas in a reactor to generate chlorinated phenol. Its chemical reaction equation is:
CH3C6H4OH Cl2 → CH3C6H4Cl HCl
the advantage of this method is that the generation of waste can be reduced or avoided, but the reaction process is complicated and the production cost is high.

direct chlorination is a method of chlorinating phenol and chlorine gas directly to chlorinated phenol. The process is simple, but there are problems such as chemical waste gas and wastewater treatment.

Preparation method of 2. chlorophenols
there are many methods for preparing chlorophenols, including solvent replacement method, sodium hydroxide method, cuprous oxide method, etc.
2.1 solvent displacement method
solvent displacement is a common method in the preparation of chlorophenols. The principle is that after heating the waste chemical solvent, it reacts with phenol at a certain temperature and pressure to produce chlorinated phenol. This method has the advantages of fast reaction speed and easy disposal of waste materials, and is one of the main methods for the production of chlorophenols.
2.2 sodium hydroxide method
the sodium hydroxide method uses sodium zeolite as a catalyst, and chlorinated benzene is added to an aqueous solution to generate chlorinated phenol under the catalysis of sodium hydroxide. This method can effectively reduce the pollution of production waste and has the advantage of environmental protection.
2.3 cuprous oxide method
the cuprous oxide method is a method of reacting chlorobenzene with cuprous oxide at high temperature to produce chlorophenol. This method has the advantages of low reaction temperature, short reaction time and high product purity, but it needs higher reaction temperature and cuprous oxide catalysis.
