acrylonitrile is a colorless flammable liquid with pungent smell. It is toxic, slightly soluble in water and easily soluble in general organic solvents. It is a conjugated unsaturated nitrile. The carbon-carbon double bond and cyano group in the molecule can participate in various reactions, such as hydration into acrylamide and acrylic acid, and diene synthesis with dienes, hydrogenation into propionitrile, Propylamine, copolymerization with acrylamide, electro-coupling to adiponitrile, and cyanoethylation reagents for alcohols and amines.

Five Functions and Uses

of Acrylonitrile 1. Acrylonitrile is an important raw material for organic synthesis. Mainly used in the manufacture of polyacrylonitrile fiber (acrylic), nitrile rubber, ABS resin, AS resin, polyacrylamide, acrylate, adiponitrile, water repellent and adhesive, etc.
