floor Area: the MMDI refining unit 2, product tank farm and hazardous waste temporary storage room to be built this time are built on the existing reserved land in the factory area, covering an area of 4378 ㎡. Other nitrobenzene, aniline, MDA, CMDI and other units are optimized and transformed in the existing unit area, and no additional land is occupied.

Construction period:30 months

construction content: on the basis of the existing MMDI refining unit, a set of 130000 tons/year MMDI refining unit and supporting public works are added. At the same time, on the basis of the existing process, the bottleneck removal transformation of nitrobenzene unit, aniline unit, MDA unit, CMDI unit and related supporting projects is carried out, and the production time of some units is prolonged to realize the optimization and upgrading of MDI unit as a whole.

global MDI production capacity is relatively concentrated, the top five are Wanhua Chemical (3.5 million tons/year), BASF, Covestro (1.77 million tons/year), Huntsman (1.37 million tons/year), Dow (1.11 million tons/year).

The giant is still increasing its layout. In addition to the completion of BASF's production expansion, South Korea Kumho Mitsui Chemical's capacity expansion of 200000 tons/year has also been put into production at the end of September this year. Thus, Mitsui Chemical's MDI production capacity has increased from 410000 tons/year to 610000 tons/year.

In addition, on October 25 this year, Wanhua Chemical released the 1.5 million-ton/year MDI technological transformation and expansion project of Wanhua Chemical Fujian Industrial Park. However, the MDI unit of Wanhua Chemical Fujian Industrial Park only completed the technological transformation and expansion of its production capacity from 400000 tons/year to 800000 tons/year in April this year, and will reach 4.2 million tons/year after expansion in the future.

In 2024, the new production capacity will reach 730000 tons/year, the domestic MDI production capacity will reach 4.91 million tons/year, and the global total production capacity will reach 11.05 million tons.
