On December 19, Zhejiang Province's "14th Five-Year Plan" key project, Zhenhai Refining and Chemical Phase II capacity expansion and high-end new materials project, was fully mechanically completed.

So far, the refining capacity of Zhenhai Refining and Chemical Co., Ltd. has been upgraded to 40 million tons, making the total refining capacity of Ningbo Petrochemical Base in Zhejiang Province exceed 50 million tons, becoming the world-class petrochemical industry base with the largest scale, the most advanced technology and the strongest competitiveness in China.

At the same time, it also represents that the 240000 tons/year bisphenol A and 650000 tons/year phenol acetone combined plant planned for the project will be put into operation soon.

High-end synthetic new material project

nature of Project: new

construction unit: sinopec Ningbo Zhenhai Refining & Chemical Co., Ltd.

Construction site: ningbo Petrochemical Economic and Technological Development Zone

project content: with a total investment of 11.332 billion yuan, the project is located in the middle of Ningbo Petrochemical Economic and Technological Development Zone and the north side of Yongzhou Expressway, with a total land area of 1350 mu. Relying on the raw material advantages of Zhenhai Refining and Chemical Production Base, the project uses propylene as raw material to extend downstream. The construction includes 4 sets of production units and supporting public and auxiliary facilities, including 40/180000 tons/year acrylonitrile/methionine combined unit, 65/240000 tons/year phenol acetone/bisphenol A combined unit, 300000 tons/year propylene oxide unit and 200000 tons/year isononyl alcohol unit.

In addition, 1.5 million tons/year ethylene and downstream high-end new materials industry cluster project (100000 tons/year epichlorohydrin/hydrogen peroxide joint) is under construction.

1.5 million tons/year ethylene and downstream high-end new materials industry cluster project

on November 24, 2023, Sinopec Zhenhai base 1.5 million tons/year ethylene and downstream high-end new materials industry cluster project started in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province.

Project Location: niluushan Reclamation Area of Ningbo Petrochemical Economic and Technological Development Zone

project area: about 215 hectares, new land (sea) about 202 hectares

project investment: about 38.08 billion yuan

construction content: this project is based on the existing scale of Zhenhai Refining and Chemical, the expansion of 1.5 million tons/year ethylene and downstream new material process equipment and related supporting environmental protection facilities, public auxiliary engineering and off-plant engineering.

The process unit mainly includes 1.5 million tons/year steam cracking, 800000 tons/year pyrolysis gasoline hydrogenation, 500000 tons/year aromatics extraction, 200000 tons/year butadiene extraction, 18/60000 tons/year methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE)/butene-1 unit, 400000 tons/year full density polyethylene (FDPE), 2*200000 tons/year polyolefin elastomer (POE/α olefin) combination, 400000 tons/year low density polyethylene (LDPE)/ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA)(vinyl acetate (VA)) combination, 300000 tons/year polypropylene (PP), 300000 tons/year butyl octanol, 240000 tons/year ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer emulsion (VAE), 20/50000 tons/year methyl methacrylate (MMA)/propionic acid combination, 200000 tons/year acrylonitrile combination, 200000 tons/year adiponitrile, 100000 tons/year epichlorohydrin/hydrogen peroxide combination, 50000 tons/year polybutene -1, 100000 tons/year 2-propyl heptanol and other 18 sets of devices.

Previous： Total investment 1.99 billion, 320000 tons/year butyl octanol and acrylic ester project started

Next： With a total investment of 1.45 billion US dollars, 500000 tons/year butyl octanol plant and 400000 tons/year polypropylene plant are planned to be put into trial operation by the end of next year.
