Dow Europe All EO-containing Polyether Polyols Force Majeure

On December 3, Dow Europe issued a force majeure notice that Dow Germany and its subsidiaries in Europe announced that all polyether polyol products containing ethylene oxide (EO) had encountered force majeure, and the corresponding products came from Dow's polyol factory in Ternap (Terneuzen,Netherlands) in the Netherlands. Due to mechanical failure of related devices in the factory, EO production was interrupted.

Dow said that this situation was due to an unforeseen accident in the cracking unit in Ternap, the Netherlands, which led to a further unexpected reduction in Dow's ethylene production, interrupted the supply of EO to polyol production, and affected the production of EO-containing polyol products.

1. Ashland: Up to 8430 yuan

on November 29, Ashland (Ashland) announced that it would raise the price of BDO and its derivatives in North America from January 1, 2022, as follows:

1,4-butanediol (BDO) increased by 0.45 USD/lb (about 6323 yuan/ton)

N-methyl-pyrrolidone (NMP) increased by 0.50 USD/lb (about 7025 yuan/ton)

2-pyrrolidone (2-Pyrol) increased by 0.50 USD/lb (about 7025 yuan/ton)

γ-butyrolactone (BLO) increased by 0.60 USD/lb (about 8430 yuan/ton)

Tetrahydrofuran (THF) increased by 0.50 USD/lb (about 7025 yuan/ton)

2. Dow: up 2115-2810 yuan

On December 1, Dow said in a letter to customers that it would raise the selling price of some resins in North America (the United States and Canada) by 0.15-0.20 USD/lb (about 2115-2810 RMB/ton) from January 1, 2022.

3. Kostron: Raise PC Prices in China

On December 2, Shanghai Kostron issued a price increase notice stating that it will raise the price of PC products in China from December 15. The specific increase is as follows:
APEC®Series increased by 0.50 USD/kg (about 3185 yuan/ton)
Makrolon®Series increased by 0.40 USD/kg (about 2548 yuan/ton)
Makroblend®Series increased by 0.50 USD/kg (about 3185 yuan/ton)
Bayblend®Series increased by 0.50 USD/kg (about 3185 yuan/ton)

4. Huntsman: 37 Chemical Products Rise in Price! of the highest surge 40%

On December 3, Huntsman Advanced Materials Americas announced that from January 1, 2022, it will impose mandatory price increases on some products according to the following table. Price increase products include epoxy resin, polyurethane, polyimide, polyamide, adhesive and other 37 kinds of chemical polymers, with an increase of up to 40%.
