Used as cellulose nitrate solvent and organic synthesis Intermediate; Mainly used as solvent for cellulose acetate, cellulose nitrate, shellac varnish and castor oil.;

Production method

It is obtained by condensation of 1,2-propylene glycol and propylene oxide. The condensation reaction between 1,2-propylene glycol and propylene oxide is carried out under the action of 85 sulfuric acid. The reaction solution is neutralized with sodium hydroxide solution, filtered, distilled under reduced pressure, and then rectified under normal pressure. The fraction of 229-233 ℃ is collected, which means dipropylene glycol. Raw material consumption quota: Propylene glycol 1300 kg/t; Propylene oxide 1500 kg/t; Sulfuric acid (98)100 kg/t; Caustic soda (95)100 kg/t.
