Nature Description

White glossy acicular crystal. Flammable. It is easy to sublimate below the boiling point and has a slight odor. Melting point ℃, boiling point 295℃ (sublimation), relative density 1.527(4/0 ℃), flash point (Open Cup) ℃, ignition point ℃. Slightly soluble in hot water and ether, soluble in ethanol, benzene and pyridine.

Product Applications

It is used as analytical reagent and organic synthesis; It is one of the important organic chemical raw materials, and is used to produce plasticizer, alkyd resin, unsaturated polyester resin, dye and pigment, medicine and pesticide, etc; phthalic anhydride is abbreviated as phthalic anhydride, which is bactericide sterilization pill, insecticide amidothiopine, weeding..

Production method

At present, there are two raw material routes of phthalic anhydride in industrial production, namely ortho-xylene method (adjacent method for short) and naphthalene method. There are three production processes: fiexed bed oxidation method, fluidized bed gas phase oxidation method and liquid phase method. In the production of phthalic anhydride in the world, Ortho fiexed bed oxidation technology is the main one, accounting for more than 80 of the total production capacity of phthalic anhydride. 1. Ortho-xylene oxidation process generally adopts vanadium-based catalysts mainly consisting of vanadium pentoxide to carry out gas phase oxidation of ortho-xylene, and most reactors are tubular fiexed bed. The filtered dust-free gas is compressed and preheated, mixed with the vaporized ortho-xylene vapor, and then enters the reactor for oxidation reaction at 400-460 ℃. The feed Space velocity is 2000-3000h-1, the concentration of O-xylene in the air is 40-60g/m2 (standard), and the reaction heat is taken out by the molten salt circulating outside the tube. The reaction product enters the vapor generator, and the cooled reaction gas is further cooled to recover crude phthalic anhydride. The tail gas is washed with water to recover maleic anhydride and then vented. Crude phthalic anhydride is distilled by vacuum, and low boiling point maleic anhydride, methylmaleic anhydride, benzoic acid and so on are separated from tatin; The bottom material is rectified by vacuum to obtain phthalic anhydride products. Raw material consumption quota: O-xylene (98)1138kg/t. 2. Naphthalene catalytic oxidation naphthalene melting gasification with air in boiling bed or fiexed bed reactor, in the presence of catalyst vanadium pentoxide, catalytic oxidation to generate phthalic anhydride gas, through condensation hot melting to obtain crude anhydride, after heat treatment, refined phthalic anhydride is obtained by distillation, condensation and separation under reduced pressure. Raw material consumption quota: naphthalene (above 95) 11250kg/t.
