Nature Description

It is white combustible crystalline powder with formaldehyde smell. Melting Point 121-123 ℃, flash point 71.1 ℃, autoignition point 300 ℃. Solubility (20℃ water):0.24g/100 cm3H2O. Dissolve slowly in cold water and dissolve quickly in hot water. Formaldehyde is released in dissolution. Insoluble in ethanol, ether, caustic soda and potassium solution.

Product Applications

It is used as raw material for organic chemical industry and synthetic resin, and also as drug fumigating agent.

Production method

37 formaldehyde is evaporated under reduced pressure, solid formaldehyde is obtained by catalytic condensation, filtered, washed with water, and the finished product is prepared by vacuum drying, the content is generally 93-95. It consumes 37kg of formaldehyde per ton of paraformaldehyde.
