POE is divided into two types, one is a polymer of ethylene and butene, and the other is a polymer of ethylene and octene.
POE plastic is a thermoplastic elastomer that uses metallocene catalysts to achieve in-situ polymerization of ethylene and octene. Its characteristics are:(1) The soft chain curl structure of octene and the crystalline ethylene chain are used as physical crosslinking points, making it It has both excellent toughness and good processability. (2)POE plastic has no unsaturated double bond in its molecular structure and has excellent aging resistance. (3)POE plastic has narrow molecular weight distribution and good compatibility with polyolefin. (4) Good fluidity can improve the dispersion effect of the filler and also improve the weld line strength of the product.
With the increase of POE plastic content, the impact strength and elongation at break of the system are greatly improved. It can be seen that POE plastic has excellent toughening effect on PP and good compatibility with PP and activated calcium carbonate. This is because the molecular weight distribution of POE plastics is narrow, and the side octyl in the molecular structure is longer than the side ethyl. In the molecular structure, it can form a connection point, which plays a role of connection and buffering between the components, so that the system is affected. When it is impacted, it plays the role of dispersing and buffering the impact energy, reducing the chance of the silver stripes developing into cracks due to force, thereby improving the impact strength of the system. When the system is subjected to tension, the network structure formed by these connection points can undergo large deformation, so the elongation at break of the system increases significantly. When the content of POE plastic increases, the tensile strength, bending strength and bending modulus of the system all decrease, which is determined by the performance of POE plastic itself, so the content of POE plastic should be controlled below 20%.
The relationship between the content of POE plastic and the melt index, after adding POE plastic, the melt index of the system increases. POE plastic itself has good fluidity. Its addition also improves the fluidity of the whole system. When the POE plastic content exceeds 15 parts, the melting index of the system basically does not change. If we want to continue to improve the fluidity of the system, we cannot completely rely on POE plastic.

Insulation layer and sheath with high requirements for heat resistance and environmental resistance in wire and cable industry. It is also used for industrial products such as rubber hose, conveyor belt, tape and molded products. Medical devices, household appliances, stationery, toys, etc., as well as packaging films, are especially suitable for low-smoke halogen-free fuel blocking; Hose packaging for cosmetics, food, etc.; Foam midsole, outsole, etc. of sports soles; flame retardant master batch; Stretch film, stretch film, all kinds of plastic wrap; Also used for industrial pressure products such as hose, conveyor belt, tape and molding products, etc.
