Nature Description

Whipping cream color powder. Melting point 207 ℃, decomposition temperature 210-220 ℃, decomposition in air 190-200 ℃. Soluble in dimethylformamide, acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, slightly soluble in water, ethanol, slightly soluble in chloroform, almost insoluble in ether. Flammable, contact with acid or acid mist can quickly fire and burn.

Product Applications

This product is one of the widely used foaming agents, mainly used in manufacturing foamed rubber, and is mostly used in polyvinyl chloride in plastics. This product is added with thermal decomposition into nitrogen and causes pores, with large gas volume and high non-foaming efficiency. Using organic acids or urea such as salicylate, adipic acid and phthalic acid as blowing promoter can reduce the decomposition temperature and adjust it in the range of 90-130 ℃. The calorific value of the product during decomposition is large, so it is easy to carbonize the central part of the thick product, and the decomposition product has malodor. Use with urea to eliminate odor. It can be used as foaming agent for polyvinyl chloride and its copolymer, polyolefin, polystyrene, polyamide, polyester, phenolic resin, polyvinylidene chloride, polysiloxane, polychloroprene, ethylene and propylene copolymer, polyoxyethylene and its elastomer. Production method

It is obtained by nitration of hexamethylenetetramine (urotropine). After dissolving urotropine and sodium nitrite with water, dilute sulfuric acid (or dilute hydrochloric acid) is added dropwise under stirring, and the reaction temperature is controlled at about 0℃. After the end of nitrosation, add a small amount of ammonia and sodium nitrite. The finished product can be obtained by Suction filtration, washing, spin-drying, drying and sieving.
