Production method

The industry mainly uses propylene glycol methyl ether (PM) and acetic acid to synthesize PMA, and the traditional concentrated sulfuric acid catalyst is used in the synthesis process. The process has the problems of severe corrosion of equipment by concentrated sulfuric acid, complicated post-treatment process of reactants, and the generation of waste residue and waste liquid pollutes the environment. At the same time, it leads to the problems of low product yield, high production cost and poor efficiency. The reason for these problems is (1) sulfuric acid must be alkali neutralized after the catalyst of concentrated sulfuric acid ester reaction. In addition to waste sulfate, part of acetic acid and alkali produce acetate during the neutralization process, causing acetic acid loss;(2) the generated sulfate and acetate must be discharged after sedimentation, and the discharged waste residue inevitably entrains the reaction products;(3) A small amount of sulfate and acetate are dissolved in the reactant that has been removed by sedimentation. Sulfate and acetate will accumulate in the packing of the distillation column in the distillation column of the separation product, resulting in deterioration of the distillation effect, the product distillation tower must stop the washing Tower regularly (20-30 days). Parking the washing tower not only seriously affects the production efficiency, but also produces waste water and consumes products.
