Product Applications

It is mainly used for Polyisoprene Rubber whose production performance is close to that of natural rubber, and is also the second monomer of butyl rubber and SIS thermoplastic elastomer. This product is an important monomer of synthetic rubber, and its dosage accounts for 95% of the total output of isoprene, it is mainly used for the synthesis of isoprene rubber, and its output is second only to butadiene..

Production method

Isoprene is an important component of C5 fraction. The C5 fraction mainly comes from isopentane dehydrogenase and isopentene dehydrogenase obtained from catalytic cracking gasoline in refineries, as well as by-products of various petroleum raw materials during cracking to ethylene. The boiling point of the C5 fraction is 27.9-49.3 °c. C5 fractional composition is complex, and it is difficult to obtain high purity isoprene products by direct distillation. Usually, extractive distillation and azeotropic distillation are adopted to separate high purity isoprene from cracked C5 fraction. The industrialized extractive distillation solvents include acetonitrile, dimethylformamide and N-methylpyrrolidone. In addition to isoprene obtained from the separation of C5 fraction, it is also produced by synthetic method in industry. For example, organic raw materials below C5, such as propylene, isobutylene, formaldehyde, acetone and acetylene, can be synthesized; It can also be prepared from isopentane and isopentene in C5 fraction.
