The manufacturing method
of polyester
polyester is an important variety of synthetic fibers and is the commodity name of polyester fibers in China. It is based on purified terephthalic acid (PTA) or dimethyl terephthalate (DMT) and ethylene glycol (EG) as raw materials by esterification or ester exchange and polycondensation reaction of fiber-forming polymer-polyethylene terephthalate (PET), after spinning and post-processing made of fiber. Polyester, also known as Trilun, the Americans also call it "Dakron". When it appeared in the Hong Kong market, people translated it as "dacron" or "dacron" according to Cantonese, to the effect that "it is really cool" is a household name. The production process of
polyester includes polymerization, spinning, post-processing and other major processes.
1. polymerization
polyester polymerization usually adopts esterification method and ester exchange method two methods. The esterification method is an esterification reaction of terephthalic acid and ethylene glycol under the action of a catalyst to produce bis-hydroxyethyl terephthalate, and then a polycondensation reaction to produce polyethylene terephthalate. The transesterification method is a transesterification reaction of dimethyl terephthalate and ethylene glycol under the action of a catalyst to produce bis-hydroxyethyl terephthalate, and then a polycondensation reaction. Polyester polymers can be obtained by both methods.
2. spinning
polyester spinning process mainly has two kinds of melt spinning and solution spinning. Melt spinning is the polyester polymer heated and melted, through the spinneret to form a filament, and then after cooling, stretching, winding and other processes to make polyester filament. Solution spinning is the polyester polymer dissolved in organic solvent, through the spinneret to form a filament, and then through the coagulation, stretching, winding and other processes to make polyester filament. Both methods can get good quality polyester fiber.
3. post-processing
polyester post-processing mainly includes drafting, heat setting, winding and other processes. Drafting is to improve the strength and elasticity of the fiber by stretching, and heat setting is to fix the molecular structure inside the fiber by heating, so as to improve the dimensional stability of the fiber. Winding is to wind the fiber into a certain shape and specification, which is convenient for subsequent weaving and processing.
In short, the manufacturing method of polyester is a complex process that requires close cooperation and strict control of multiple processes to ensure the quality of the final product. At the same time, with the continuous development of science and technology, polyester manufacturing methods are constantly improving and optimizing, improving production efficiency and quality.
